Welcome To Our Blog

I'd like to extend a personal welcome to you as you visit our blog.

The luxury real estate market in Sarasota is as dynamic as it gets.

Local events and market conditions are always in flux and play a major role it this dynamic. But, a different future is unfolding: right here and right now.

With it we are seeing global economic and geo-political events playing a more significant role than ever before. Add to this the quantum leaps that technology now plays in the housing market, and it's clear that staying on top of things is vital.

That's why I'm committed to keeping my clients stay abreast of the market, and this blog post is just one of the communication channels I'm using to do so.

The numbers are in! Earlier this month Action Realty of Sarasota did our annual research into how many people have relocated to this slice of paradise we call Sarasota. Our findings reveal that of all properties purchased in Sarasota County last year, a total of 5,527 purchases came from outside the Sunshine State.

It should come as no surprise that New Yorkers topped the chart with 753, or 13.6% of the total new homeowners.

Why do people typically flock to Florida? The most common answers are, naturally, the beautiful weather year-round and the relaxing, leisurely-paced lifestyle found on our state’s gorgeous coastlines. Cities such as Sarasota and Miami continue to make their marks on the map as arts, culture and culinary destinati...

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me, “Real estate is going up, right?” “How much is my property worth, more than last year … right?” And this one: “What will the market be like three years from now?”

To be very up-front: I don’t know. No one knows. We can make assumptions -- we want or, I should say, we need to believe that the real estate market will go up. But if you’re still unsatisfied with that response, here’s your straight answer.

The market has entered a normalized, stable period. Six to seven years ago, most homeowners had an imaginary gold bar in their hand -- their property. Easy access to funds was the status quo, as banks issued loans right and left...

For the past year I've been cultivating a new marketing concept to form strong bounds and relationships with various luxury retailers on the West Coast of Florida. By promoting other businesses among my clients I am able to both reach more potential clients and include different items for new buyers with Action Realty.

Let me explain: At 1300 Benjamin Franklin Dr., Unit 809, a gorgeous condo in The Ritz-Carlton Beach Residences, we negotiated a special deal with Suncoast Motorsports, located right here in Sarasota on S. Tamiami Trail. The new purchaser of this unit will find included in the price a new 2014 Porsche Boxster to use for a term of two years. At closing, the seller will make a one-time lease payment to Suncoast Motorsports, wh...

Luxury real estate is my profession and my passion, and in this line of work I’ve been fortunate to meet many other luxury lifestyle experts. They make it crystal clear that not all luxury living takes place on land.

For example, in the world of the richest, owning a yacht is considered a must. A recent report handed the title of the world’s most expensive yacht to the History Supreme, with a price tag of over $4.5 billion. Why so pricey?

The yacht is plated with 100,000 kg of gold and platinum, features one of the rarest T-Rex bones onboard, and part of the interior is fashioned with elements from a meteorite. Add to that one luxury bottle of liquor that holds a 18.5 ct diamond, one of the most precious stones in the world.

In our last blog post, we announced that we completed our annual research into which states produced Sarasota's new homeowners in 2013. We revealed that New York had taken the top spot, with 13.6 % of Sarasota County home purchases by out-of-state buyers in 2013. Then we challenged you to guess which four states would round out the top five. So are you ready to find out how you did?

A drumroll please!

After New York, the next four states whose residents purchased homes in Sarasota are:

- Ohio, 10% (552)
- Texas, 8.6% (478)
- Illinois, 8.1% (452)
- Michigan, 7.8% (435)

So, how did you do? Do you think there were there any surprises among the answers?

For anyone who has spent a warm, sunny winter in Sarasota, it is easy to see how weather can fact...
